Elder Scrolls Legends – VFX and 3D assets
Project: Elder Scrolls Legends TCG
Software:
- Zbrush
- Blender
- Photoshop
- Substance Painter
- Unity
When I was creating VFX for Elder Scrolls Legends I had a lot of fun creating 3D assets for quite a few of the card attack VFX. My typical process was to use Zbrush to quickly sculpt if it was a more organic shape or to start with Blender and then refine in Zbrush. From there I would do UVs and bring the model into Substance Painter for textures and shading and then import to Unity. We only had the standard Unity Rendering so I had to get along without PBR.
I was given basic requirements from the designers and then had free reign to come up with the concept and execution for pretty much all the VFX and UI elements I created for Legends.
